AISJ - Theatre and Arts Courtyard
The complex features a 525‑seat theatre linked to performing arts classrooms around a central courtyard, which serves as an outdoor learning and performance space. Its exterior combines natural stone, glass, steel, plaster, and aluminium, while the timber-clad interior provides a functional yet warm blacked-out environment. Designed for connectivity, flexibility, and functionality, pivoting full-height doors open the theatre to adjacent courtyards and walkways, integrating it with rehearsal and studio spaces. The stage is adaptable for both music and drama, with rotating panels, adjustable proscenium, acoustics, and a sliding orchestra pit, while catwalks and a perimeter tech balcony allow versatile lighting, stage configurations, and safe technical access, supporting both teaching and school-wide gatherings.
