Bordering the vibrant multi-use CBD of Rosebank, Ikusasa, meaning Future in Zulu, comprises 7,500m² of office space across four floors and will house Anglo American’s Global Services division. The building embodies environmental sustainability by celebrating, rather than concealing, features such as solar panels, which are integrated into the rhythm of solid stone panels along the east and west façades for optimal sun capture. The north and south elevations feature energy-efficient double glazing, shaded balconies, and automated sun-control blinds to create a comfortable, light-filled workspace. Set back at the street corner, the design introduces an inviting mini piazza that complements the precinct’s pedestrian-focused public spaces. With all parking placed underground, the development maintains a strong human scale and enhances the surrounding urban environment—reflecting a forward-thinking vision that balances security, accessibility, and integration with the city fabric.
